THE RESTORATION, CONVERSION AND EXTENSIONS OF A GRADE 11*THATCHED MEDIAEVAL HALL HOUSE, INTERNAL RE·ARRANGEMENTS AND CONVERTING THE N.E. WING FROM AGRICULTURAL TO RESIDENTIAL USE. THE WORK HAS PROVIDED MODERN FACILITIES AND COMFORTABLE ACCOMMODATION WHILST PRESERVING THE HISTORIC CHARACTER AND APPEARANCE OF THE BUILDING.

Citation: A meticulous restoration and enhancement of a splendid late mediaeval thatched house over Ham stone walls. A wide range of early beams, doors, fire openings and stone floors - including the original cross-passage - has been carefully represented and a new and delicately detailed spiral wood staircase cleverly inserted between the main house and the former horse engine-house, which is also brought into modern use, in part as a studio.
